Cornwall College St Austell is proud to present The Key to The Keay, a brand new grant designed to open doors for individuals, groups and organisations across Cornwall looking to take centre stage.

We are offering two one-night performance slots at the Keay Theatre in May 2026, giving successful applicants the chance to bring their creative visions to life in a professional venue for free.

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to showcasing local talent, celebrating creativity and supporting our community.

What’s included?

  • A one-night performance at the Keay Theatre on Saturday 23rd May or Sunday 24th May 2026, with access to the venue for daytime rehearsals
  • Technical support from Keay Theatre staff during your performance
  • A consultation session with our Performing Arts team and Theatre Manager
  • Full control over ticket sales, with 100% of profits retained by the performer or organisation
  • Marketing and promotional support, including features on Cornwall College channels and potential PR opportunities

  • Local theatre companies
  • Youth groups and school productions
  • Performances that celebrate Cornish culture
  • Educational or community-focused projects
  • Charities and non-profit groups
  • Individual performers (solo artists, writers, musicians, actors)

Why The Keay?

The Keay Theatre is one of Cornwall’s most iconic performance venues. With seating for up to 224 and standing capacity of 350, the theatre offers professional-standard facilities including full lighting and sound systems, projection capabilities, a generous performance area and access to dressing rooms and rehearsal spaces. From intimate performances to full-scale productions, the Keay is designed to bring your ideas to life on stage.

Applications are now open and must be submitted by 11.59pm on Sunday 26th October 2025.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges. All shortlisted applicants will be contacted after the deadline.
